Awaken the Wise Woman: A Retreat Born from Healing, Friendship, and the Courage to Begin Again

The wisdom you seek is not outside of you.

It lives within your body.
Within your breath.
Within the rhythms of nature.
Within the women who came before you.

For generations, women gathered in circles, shared stories, tended gardens, brewed teas, cared for one another, and trusted the wisdom of their bodies.

That wisdom still exists.

It is carried in your intuition.
In your longing for something more.
In the quiet voice that reminds you there is another way to live.

Awaken the Wise Woman is an invitation to remember what has always been yours.

Come home to yourself.

Something Magical is Coming…

There comes a moment in every woman's life when she realizes she is no longer willing to live on autopilot.

  • A moment when the endless striving, proving, fixing, and doing begins to lose its grip.

  • A moment when she hears a quieter voice beneath the noise.

  • A voice that whispers:

There is another way.

For me, that voice has been growing louder with each passing year.

As I begin closing the chapter on 47, I find myself standing in a place I worked incredibly hard to reach. Not because life suddenly became easy, but because I finally learned how to move with it instead of against it.

The rhythm of my life has become a soulful song.

  • A rhythm of ritual.

  • A rhythm of presence.

  • A rhythm of beauty.

  • A rhythm that honors rest as much as action.

For years, I poured myself into caring for others. As a nurse, public health advocate, yoga teacher, Ayurvedic practitioner, and women's health educator, my work has always centered around creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and safe enough to heal.

I have spent much of my life teaching, guiding, holding space, and helping others reconnect with themselves.

What I have learned is that healing rarely happens through information alone.

Healing happens through connection, community, being witnessed, and feeling like you belong.

This retreat was born from that understanding.

Why I Am Offering This Retreat

The past few years have transformed me.

Some of that transformation came through incredible growth and some of it came through profound challenge.

Last year, during one of the most difficult seasons of my life, I experienced the power of women supporting women in a way I will never forget.

When I was struggling, a dear friend stood beside me. She reminded me of who I was when I had temporarily forgotten.

She offered support without judgment, strength without expectation, presence without conditions.

That friend is also the owner of Casas Kismet.

As our friendship deepened, so did a dream.

A dream of creating a retreat where women could gather, heal, learn, laugh, cry, celebrate, and remember themselves.

A place where women support women.

Not because they have to; because they choose to.

This retreat is an extension of that vision.

A living example of what becomes possible when women rise together.

Why Nosara?

There are places in the world that seem to hold a certain kind of magic.

Nosara is one of those places.

Nestled along Costa Rica's Pacific Coast, Nosara is known for its pristine beaches, abundant wildlife, thriving wellness community, and deeply rooted connection to nature.

It is also located within one of the world's renowned Blue Zones, regions where people consistently live longer & healthier lives.

Researchers studying Blue Zones have identified common themes among these communities: connection, movement, purpose, nourishment, belonging, and a slower pace of life.

In many ways, these principles mirror the teachings of Ayurveda.

Both invite us to return to what is essential.

  • To simplify.

  • To reconnect with nature.

  • To create daily rituals that support longevity, vitality, and joy.

Nosara has a way of helping people exhale.

The ocean softens what has become rigid, the jungle quiets the mind, and the sunsets remind us that beauty exists even in endings.

There is something profoundly healing about being there, which means it is the perfect place for this journey.

Casas Kismet Pool Area

Why Casas Kismet?

The word "Kismet" means destiny.

And sometimes certain places simply feel destined.

Casas Kismet is not just a resort, it is a sanctuary.

A place intentionally created to foster connection, restoration, and transformation.

It carries the energy of friendship, community, and care.

Knowing the woman who created it, and witnessing the heart she has poured into every detail makes it even more meaningful.

This retreat is rooted in relationships, in trust, and in women holding one another through life's seasons.

But what truly brings Casas Kismet to life are the people who show up each day, from sunrise to sunset, to care for this special place and the guests who pass through it. These remarkable humans infuse even the simplest daily tasks with warmth, joy, and genuine presence. Their smiles are contagious, their kindness effortless, and their way of moving through the day serves as a beautiful reminder of what matters most.

They remind us to pause, to acknowledge one another, to offer gratitude before anything else, to find joy in the ordinary, and to recognize that connection is created through small moments of care and attention.

Their presence embodies the spirit of Costa Rica and the values that make this retreat so meaningful; community, appreciation, simplicity, and heart.

There is no better place for that than Casas Kismet.

Why Now?

Because waiting for the perfect time often means waiting forever.

I have spent years gathering knowledge, experience, wisdom, and tools.

Years sitting beside people in some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

Years learning what truly helps women heal.

There comes a point when the dream becomes louder than the fear.

For me, that point is now.

This retreat is not the beginning of my work, it is the culmination of it.

A weaving together of nursing, yoga, Ayurveda, women's health, grief work, and my own lived experiences.

Everything I have learned has led me here.
